Attendance Clerk – Lower Gwynedd Elementary:

Lower Gwynedd Elementary has an opening for a part time Attendance Clerk, Class 6, $29.16 per hour, 4 hours per day, 10-month position. 

Position Title:            Clerk Typist – Elementary                                                                   

Job Classification:    Class 6

Qualifications:      

1. High School Diploma
2. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate effectively with students, parents, and the professional staff
3. Strong communication and organizational skills
4. Computer expertise, including word processing
5. Any additional or alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board of School Directors.

Principal Functions:  

The Clerk Typist-Elementary is responsible for assisting the secretary and the principal in the organization and operating of the school office; and assume operation of the office in the secretary’s absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*: 

1. Checks in substitutes teachers
2. Provides tours of the building and is the initial contact for visitors
3. Records phone messages
4. Maintains student attendance records
5. Records and monitors student attendance, which is coordinated with guidance, nurse and the Home and School Visitor
6. Records use of building, activities and meeting dates
7. Maintains the student activity account
8. Types memos, letters, student records and publications, as well as, repair orders
9. Sorts and distributes mail and documents
10. Assists in the nurse’s office when the nurse is not in the building
11. Received and dispatches messages and phone calls
12. Performs such other duties, consistent with the position, as may be assigned by the Building Principal.
